Meet the Team

Rebecca Wiener

My introduction to Podiatry came when I was 13 and playing netball several times a week. I suffered greatly from plantar fasciitis and ended up seeing a podiatrist who fitted me with orthotics. Since then my feet have been pain free… as long as I still wear my orthotics. But, that sparked an interest in foot health that continues today.

I have worked in both private practice and for the Illawarra Health Service since beginning work in 1992. I have also worked as a clinical supervisor in the Podiatry faculty at the University of Western Sydney.

I opened Dapto Podiatry Clinic in 1993 and we moved to our current location in 1995. I enjoy all aspects of working as a podiatrist in a team environment, but I have a particular interest in nail surgery and ingrown toenails, adolescent health and preventative foot care.

Leone Cecco

Leone completed her Podiatry studies in 1991. Since then she has worked in the Illawarra area in both private and public settings. Leone has a particular interest in diabetic foot care, ulcer treatment and wound management.

In her spare time, Leone enjoys spending time with family and friends, her pet Labrador and gardening.

Kayla Sharman

Kayla graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2010 and began her career as a podiatrist here, at Dapto Podiatry Clinic. With treatment values that centre on honesty and compassion, Kayla takes interest in all aspects of podiatry including general treatments, Diabetes assessments and Nail Surgery. After having three children of her own, she has also enjoyed expanding her interest and knowledge in the paediatric foot. Kayla is passionate about providing podiatry care that is genuine, patient centred and evidence based.

John Lopes

John graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and a Masters in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Western Sydney. He is a member of the Australian Podiatry Association and the Australian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. John has a passion for helping others and believes in treating patients holistically and trying to provide them with the best possible care.

John enjoys participating in Soccer and Basketball and enjoys being involved in many different types of sport. This has helped develop a keen interest in biomechanics and sport related podiatry. He enjoys treating and solving complex lower limb musculoskeletal issues. John has a great passion for podiatry and giving the best possible care for everyone. He looks forward to meeting you and showing you his good natured and warm personality. He is also fluent in Portuguese.

Adelaide Deura

Adelaide graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Podiatry in 2013. Since then she has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, community health and the high risk foot clinic at the Diabetes centre in Wollongong.

Adelaide’s interest in podiatry sparked after having her ingrown toenails fixed by a podiatrist when she was a teenager. Adelaide enjoys all aspects of podiatry but her special interest areas are Diabetic foot care, nail surgery and biomechanics. Adelaide’s interests outside of work are playing with her dog Louie, baking, going for walks down at the beach and spending time with family.
